I live in London, so feel your pain about high cost of living. We hear so many stories about people who've hacked the system or became FI, but in reality, they too have sacrificed some parts of life. Personally I love travelling, and it has taught me there are some incredibly cheap places to live, where a low salary will go a long way, but I also know some people don't like uprooting their lives. Ultimately, I think if people follow paths that they enjoy, they will end up having a rich life, but that might not be a FI one.
